The third project meeting in Athens, Greece (November 03-09, 2008)
03/11/2008, Monday:
● The Turkish group was welcomed at 10 a.m at the Athens Airport and the Chezch and Latvian groups at half past five by the Project coordinator Stavroula Giovani. Then, they were placed in Hotel Alexandros.
● The students from the Turkish, Chezch and Latvian groups were lodged by the parents of the 3rd Primary School students.
● A welcoming dinner at 8 p.m
04/11/2008, Tuesday: ● The meeting with The 3rd Primary school teachers at 10 a.m to get to know each other. The headmeaster, Pavlos Christou introduced their school and informed the participants about the education system. ● At half past ten, the 3rd Primary school students made their visual presentations on the wedding ceremonies in Greece. (The traditional new year cake ‘vasilopita’ was introduced.) ● The classrooms that have bulletin-boards inside presenting Latvia,Turkey and Chezch Republic were visited as well as the other parts of the school. ● Project meeting at half past two in the afternoon. The work and performance till then were considered and evaluated. ● At 6 p.m, the teachers went for a walk in the downtown accompanied by the students. 05/11/2008, Wednesday: ● The Acropolis tour with the participation of the whole team accompanied by a tourist guide at 10 a.m. ● The Project meeting at half past two in the afternoon. The products and works to be finished this year were planned. The Project coordinator,Gürsel Gelir informed the teachers about the meeting in Turkey. ● Some of the historical and touristic places of the downtown were visited at 8 p.m. 06/11/2008, Thursday: ● We visited the mayor of Papagos. The Mayor, Vasilis Xydyis welcomed us to his office and informed us about Papagos and their works. ● We watched the 3rd Primary School students’ dance performance at 11 a.m and thereafter, our students’ presentations on festivals and events. ● We listened to the school music band’s performance at half past twelve conducted by the music teacher. ● The final project meeting at half past three. The works to be completed this year and the meeting in Turkey were planned. ● The teachers,students and some parents had their dinner altogether in Papagos at 8 p.m. 07/11/2008, Friday: ● At 10 a.m we visited the ancient city ‘Sounio’ and travelled along the sea. ● We had lunch in a restaurant by the harbour of Piraeus at half past two. 08/11/2008, Saturday: ● The Turkish group was seen off at the Athens Airport by Stavroula Giovani, the Project coordinator. 08/11/2008, Sunday:
● Stavroula Giovani, the Project coordinator saw the Latvian and Chezch groups off at the airport.
